Step 2: Preparing the substrate

Once after the straw is chopped into small pieces, having 2 to 3 inches in size then next you need to wet the straw and then boil the straw in boiling water. Continue boiling for a 30 min and then remove the straw and drain it and until it is cooled down.

Step 3: Pack the plastic bags

Pack the chopped and boiled straw into plastic bags tightly and then sprinkle the spawn on top without any gaps. Repeat this process until the bag is filled fully, close the top and poke holes to the bag.

Step 4: Incubation

Keep the growing area at around 25 °C, and place the filled bags on the shelving units, and make sure that you have to avoid the natural light entering into the harvesting room. You need to use red darkroom light, when you need to check your bags. When you are able to notice a small pinhead mushroom near the air hole of the bag then you can move on to the next step of mushroom farming.

Step 5: Fruiting

At this stage of the fruiting room, you need to have a high level of humidity of about 80% to 90%; the temperature has to be maintained in and around 20°C to 25°C. The mushroom fruiting needs the natural light for at least 12 hours per day to stock your mycelium that will force into fruiting.

Next move the bags into the cool place for a day and then again move back into the fruiting room, next cut away the bag which allows mushroom growth to take place.
